Jackery 1500 Review. In this video I share why I think the Jackery 1500 Solar Generator could be a good option for Overlanders …
Iโm planning on getting a van and turning it into a camper van and using that as a home per say until I can save up enough money to get some property and a house. I would be running a small fridge all the time and occasionally a tv and a phone charger and a fan for the summer. I was thinking about getting 2 of these systems with the solar panels just Incase one of them failed or if I need more power. Do you think that this is a good idea?
This product is nice quiet not like last one I got
๐
Looking forward to your review of the new Jack 2000 Pro modelโฆ
Whining about a solar generator needing sun but you want to park in the shade. Unbelievable. What you need is a simple gas generator which will power everything you need in your tiny van world.
I would like to know if this thing will run a well pump if you were to hook it into your fuse panel like a gas generator , I'm talking about the top of line jackery
Don't buy jackery doesn't have faults my set fire to it self while I was camping
Is this usable for 8 to 10 years easily? Will it last for that time?
As someone that occasionally does weekends with my van I need something to just run the fridge for 3 days. So that unit would be perfect for me. but darn thats expensive.
WHAT??? lol you don't plan on putting your van in permanent shade under solar panels? I'm only half-teasing.
thank you for the video! Great points and covered a lot! Went thru several other videos with lots of information but none of it being what users would be interested in. Your video touched base on a lot of things i was looking at and points I had never considered. Thanks again!
So silly everyone slamming the light in videos. Itโs for EMERGENCIES not a walk to the fire pit
I wish folks would stop calling these things "generators"…the don't generate anything…they're just big batteries.
get a usb extension with usbs and 12v ports
I could buy a small Honda generator for $1,500 and run a small AC at night. The generator is a no brainer.
Great Video!!!! One question.
I really like the flashlight. I use the battery during a storm. I don't use it for camping adventures. When you're out of power for 2 weeks after a Hurricane, that flashlight is heaven sent. You give informative reviews. Thanks.
Suprised for someone well versed in these things your only conclusion for the light on the Jackery is to be a conventional flash light. Ever consider when your camping and your offloading gear in the middle of the night and your carrying something heavy like the Jackery so you donโt have a available hand, then the light comes in handy so you can walk to the site or wherever you need it without using one hand to carry the unit and another to carry something else rather than a flash light when you could be carrying more gear to and from.
Why not plug the jackery right into your panels they are compatible with most if not all solar panels? The jackery you can drain to complete 0. I doubt you can drain that dedicated system to even 50% without problems.
Add a USB hub to the USB ports. You can daisy chain as many devices as you want to, at that point.
Can't you expand the amount of ports by, for example, plugging a converter into the cigarette port. Converters have USB ports as well as AC. There are probably other ways to expand the amount of ports too. Also, those solar panels fold up nice and flat so you could probably store them under your mattress or foam mattress.
I did find this useful. Subscribed and thumbs up! Thanks for sharing. Always enjoy your videos.
You can buy a 2000 peak jackery right now for 899.99 and a Jackery 3600 watt peak for 1,599.99. As or December 30,2021
HI JASON ๐
THIS YEAR I'M THINKING ABOUT BUYING A REFRIGERATOR 55 L / 65 L & A JACKERY TO POWER ๐ IT , MAYBE CHARGE SMALL CAMERA , MY PHONE , GARMIN GPS HANDHELD FOR EMERGENCIES , ETC . FIGURING AROUND $ 2000.00 + FOR BOTH . MOST OF THE TIME TWO + PEOPLE & TWO DOGS .
I'M GLAD WHAT EVER HAPPENED THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS HAVE STRAIGHTENED OUT SOOOOOOOO I CAN MESSAGE MY YOUTUBE CHANNEL FRIENDS AGAIN . I COULD LEAVE A CHECK MARK โ BUT WOULDN'T LET ME MESSAGE YOU ALL , BUT I'VE BEEN WATCHING EVERYONE . THANK YOU ๐ WAY BETTER THAN TV ๐บ . LEARNING & WATCHING / WISHING OF NEW PLACES TO MAYBE GO & EXPLORE. YOU'LL ARE AWESOME ๐ ENJOY ๐! BE SAFE! HAVE FUN ! GOD BLESS YOU ALL ALWAYS ON YOUR ADVENTURES ๐ ENJOYED !
If your looking to sell those solar panels lets make a deal
Someone asked me to look this thing up because I know more about tech than they do, but I'm more of a computer kinda guy so I still had no idea what to tell 'em. Your video rocks, it's super informative and you don't just read the spec sheet, you also have real-world experience and methods of testing. I never leave my house but I'm gonna subscribe to this channel just because you've got a whole world going on I wasn't even aware was an option and I really appreciate the perspective!
Can you charge the jackery off of your house battery?
Jackery being so expensive makes them a bad deal for everyone. Ecoflow or Bluetti are the way to go. Better value, more plugs, faster charging, longer lifespan, more control, much more solar input, etc. Jackery really is coasting on their reputation while living in the past.
Either way! In these times of prepping, the gear you do have is better than the gear U don't have.As long as it WORKS when needed.. At the very least U have some degree of energy to spare in the event of a blackout when u have some solar capability.
If U can afford it, get it NOW.
"Data and power manipulation is the next World War" per my Data corruption training at Camp Lejeune….As a Marine , we did Blackout/Data crash, non lethal combat simulations…
They railed on and on about data corruption ruining Power Grids via computer hacking.
…
Get prepping, and don't be naive….Trouble comes when U least expect it..Storms, Data Corruption, Blackouts, Supply Deficits Etc… Prepping /2A All Day Every day. God save us..
Don't be paranoid, be proactive.
Hi. Just got my jackery 1500 for emergency purposes. Heavy. I'm charging it for the 1st time and am wondering if the fan is supposed to come on when simply charging it and not using it? Seems odd. Want to be sure it's not defective.
From the Van-Life point of view, but a far better review than most
Big freezer and fridge?????
Thank you for this review, I live inthe PNW and we get some wicked storms here that may end up leaving us without power for a few days at a time. I was looking at the system with the solar panels, but you really helped me decide not to. As it turns out I have a super alternator charging my van's 200ah house batteries in about 30min at idle, so I'm getting only the Jackery 1500 without the solar panels. Your video literally just saved me $1k. Thank you!!!
Buy a $7 USB expansion plug
1. How long can it run a gaming setup? (XboxSX, PS5)
2. How long will it take to fully charge on AC power?
Thanks
You make a nice video but Jackery in my opinion has not kept up with the competition. They still use older style batteries that wont last as long. The power delivery port is under powered, they need to add wireless charging and get rid of that signature look with that handle. Also over priced.
How many hours will this run a small compressor? (C-Pap machine)
Excellent product evaluation. I will eventually purchase a Jackery, I like the straight forward approach and the many other uses. Thanks for the review.
What you need is Goal Zero 1500x with Anderson 30 amp plug.
