Surge level will last only a few seconds usually. This unit powers my home fridge for 16 hours, the 1800W Oupes runs it for 24 hours. The 1800W unit takes 400 watts of solar, which helps charge up in good time, while this 1200W unit takes only 200W of solar, so it takes a bit longer to charge. But it is about 10 pounds lighter, I think, so I like that aspect a lot with my occasional back troubles.
Charging a lithium battery at below freezing temps can cause permanent damage from plating on the battery anodes. Some generators have battery management systems that either turn charging off when temps drop below freezing or use the battery charge to heat the battery. Does the OUPES 1200 do either?
