In todays video we compare renogys 100 watt monocrystalline panel against Harbor Freights 100 watt monocrystalline to see …
UPDATE: Late last evening I went and popped the back panel off the Renogy solar panel to verify if the wire truly was Tinned copper and it was!! Like so many had mentioned. I updated the description and may show a short video for those interested. Sorry for the quick over look. Updated 6 month and 1 year will come later.
I found out the hard way copper wire is better than alum
U think thevharber freight panl is the one i would buy
If you look at the Renogy rating, it's rated at 100W STC (Standard Test Conditions). The Harbor Freight panel does not specify but it looks to be rated 100W PTC (PVUSA Test Condition).
That's most likely why you see the difference in wattage.
Is there a problem with connecting one of these 100w panels in parallel with a 200w panel?
Great review. One crucial bit of info missing: WHERE ARE EACH MANUFACTURED?! Thanks
Informative video. Thx
what an idiotic comparison..dude go to leaf springs…typical USie
100$ for a 100 watts is insane. Look online you can get 500+ for about 250$.
Done wan no aluminum wire. It may be brittle.
what would you need for a platstation and tv?
Harbor Freight, simply because they used copper conductors.
I thought aluminum wire was restricted to nothing smaller than a #6 AWG? Aluminum properties are inferior to copper.
100 watts too small, 300 watts are better.
What can you do with a panel that produces only 17 volts?
Everything was so well packaged.
What in the world can be done with those 100 watt solar panels?
Maybe light a small closet using a 12 volt bulb . Operate the world's smallest 12 volt TV .
You'll need forty acres of these solar panels and a frightening number of car batteries and the world's largest power inverter in order to deliver at least 20kw for any time at all before all the batteries are drained. Then what ? 🤣😆😂
Those aluminum wires will turn to dust in a a maritime climate. Go for copper wires.
You blocked off the air flow to the back of the Renogy panel. That will reduce the cooling and the performance.
Thanks for this info!
Why do you over modulate your audio, all my monitors rumble & vibrate on your videos. I quit watching you.
both are worse for the environment than fossil fuels
I THINK HF PANEL HAVE MORE CELLS THEN RENOGY CHECK THE PANEL FOR PER SQ INCH I THINK YOU WILL SEE HF HAS MORE NOT A FAIR COMPARISON
2:45 that's probably tinned copper wires, not aluminum. No one use aluminum wires that small, they are way too delicate.
👍👌❤️🇨🇦, sweet
0.8m² vs 0.9m².. 🤪
While the harbor freight is better brand new the really important test is which is better after 10 years of use
1 year update please
Where are the Harbor freight ones made? It's not listed on either their website or in the manual. The Renogy ones are made in Thailand.
You've gone so far in comparing the two… What about temp variance while charging/working?!? What about having them both work for at least a month and comparing them?
is the HF larger? Did I miss the square inch measurements?
I don't know if this is relevant but aluminum wiring is not approved for building wiring in California. Apparently after many cycles it fatigues and breaks.
👍
